In the heart and mind of Vallon Thompson (guitarist, songwriter) came the beginnings of Avante Guarden. Leaving behind the "cover band mentality" Vallon began writing and producing original works. There were many experimental compositions in an effort to fine tune the sound of AG.... and many singers. AG went through no less than six vocalists in its initial stages, seeking the right voice for its particular style, this seemed impossible.

Meanwhile Lisa Bullard, a hardcore rock vocalist living in a predominantly R&B / Hip Hop society, re-emerges from a frustration induced musical hiatus. She calls herself Jane Doe in defiance of society's predetermined vision of what a female vocalist should be. Through a mutual friend (David Hanna) she is introduced to Vallon Thompson. Lisa's problems are Vallon's in reverse. What he's been lacking in rock vocals she's been lacking in rock musical production. The skies open, the angels sing and a new world unfolds they laugh and joke about how small this island is and why the hell were they hiding from each other all this time! Rejuvenated by there chance meeting they immediately pool their talents to create the first Avante Guarden Album "Almost Home"

Formed in 2009 by original members Lisa Bullard "Jayne Doh" on lead vocals and Vallon Thompson on guitar, these dynamic hard rockers took on their home town of Nassau Bahamas the only way they knew how; AS LOUD AS THEY COULD!! Joined by Ashley Algreen on guitar, Gary Francis on Bass and Loran Bailey on drums they took to the clubs of New Providence and quickly became known as one of the most original and Authentic rock acts in the Bahamas.

However, due to unforeseen events AG underwent a hiatus in 2011. Ashley and Bailey left the band to pursue other interests but remain close friends with the remaining members. In 2012 the Avante Guarden returned with new members and a refocused drive towards their goal. With Kingsley "Rev" Wilkinson on drums, Treco "Souse" Johnson on bass and Gary Francis taking up duties on guitars. They were a perfect circle. Today they continue to record originals and perform around the island of New Providence frequenting Senor Frogs bar and night club as the house band. Their gaze however remains steadfast, their dream unwavering, their music will reach hearts and minds the world over. Keep it Rockin!!!
