about

Formed in the mid 2000s, and driven simply by its five members' love of heavy metal music, Grimmthurs is a Danish underground metal band whose style combines thrash metal, death metal, and black metal. Determined to play whatever they like, and not letting the restrictions of conventional genre boundaries stand in their way, Grimmthurs also draw on doom metal, grindcore, melodeath, and
even traditional heavy metal.

Grimmthurs have contributed to both Hell Comes Around compilations and released a two-track demo in 2007. Their 2013 EP, simply entitled Grimmthurs, features five tracks that display the band's resolve to combine whatever metal genres they want to. The five tracks are deliberately primitive, dark, and heavy, but still considerably melodic and expose the listener to doom metal heaviness, raw black-thrash riffage, black metal blasphemy, melodeath catchiness, and old school death metal brutality.

Inspired by as diverse acts as Autopsy, Behemoth, Slayer, Toxic
Holocaust, Iron Maiden, Immortal, Sepultura, Obituary, and At The Gates, the Grimmthurs EP should appeal to fans of different types of old school (extreme) metal.

Claus Markussen - vocals
Lars Pedersen - guitars
Kim Ebensgaard Jensen - guitars
David "Daf" Nielsen - bass
Dennis Lucas - drums
