about

Having established themselves in record time as one of the UK's premier up-and-coming sleaze bands, Lovebite deliver a fusion of razor sharp musicianship with an uncharacteristic talent for writing a hook then slamming it down your throat in a manner that's not only powerful but powerfully addictive, as well.

With the zeitgeist dictating that the relevance of an album as an art form is under close scrutiny, Lovebite's debut album "Lock N Load" defies the current trend and delivers on every level, making it an essential listen from start to finish. "For a band such as ours to release only singles is complete rubbish," declares singer, Jonny Sparks. Throughout history rock bands have put out full albums and that's how "Lock N Load" should be listened to. It's a full experience, not just pieces of a puzzle."

Tough but intricate and played by a band at the top of their game, this is the kind of record that will make its mark at a time where raw, ugly rock & roll is crashing back. A sleazy musical cocktail of tracks has the listener hungry for more – with high-octane, hook-o-rama songs like "Sin City" (about a corrupt city with no boundaries) blended with the raw, unchecked emotion of "Mr.Lonely" (tells the story of a heartbroken individual who can’t seem to move on) while the heavy power ballad "Can't Fight Your Love" ("this one is about love, passion, you know the deal!" laughs Sparks) is juxtaposed with the calming "Hey Baby" (a song about not giving up on love even when times are tough). There's an element of aggression with the catchy "Love/Hate" (about hating the person you love) and some rugged sleaze in the driving bassline on "Striptease" ("I'll give ya one guess what this one's about ..." says the frontman)

Hailing from the UK's city of steel - aka Birmingham - their hometown has produced some of the biggest names ever in the world of rock music - Black Sabbath, ELO, Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest to name but a few. Are the band worried about living up to the legacy their city has claimed over time? "We aren't worried at all. Birmingham has a great musical history, of course, but we're our own band and this is a new era," explains Sparks. "We're ready to step up the mark and we take no prisoners. Now, either get out of the way or jump on board. It's your choice, but either way, we're taking over!"

"Lock N Load" sets the tone for Lovebite to make their subtle as a sledgehammer mark in the world of rock. They're locked in, they're loaded and they're kicking down your door right now.
